Children learn a lot from their peers. This summer, encourage your child to keep reading and sneak some books into their play dates. In fact, plan a trip to the library during a play date. Students tend to do what their peers are doing; so why not include some healthy habits. It might catch on!

To improve children's reading fluency, activate the closed-caption on the television and this will encourage children to read familiar words fluently and to get familiar with unfamiliar words. Tested, tried, and true.
